Our “D” litter was from a breeding of Kevi-Lator Lord “Cooper” to Ava of Meander River. 3 males and 3 females were born on April 20, 2025. The pups ranged between 240 and 390 grams at birth. This was a special litter for us: our first “second-generation” breeding. The puppies and their mother were all born and raised in the same room in our home.
We loved the temperament of this litter. The puppies were our calmest yet. As a testament to that: Our children taught them to sit and wait patiently as a pack to be petted when they were only 5 weeks old.

We thank Dr. Wynne Collins and Renee Morris at the former Theriogenology Department of the Maritime Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Clinic for their expert advice and the use of their modern diagnostic equipment. Ava’s timing was challenging: She ovulated a full week later than we might have expected. Dr. Collins and Renee guided us through an extra week of waiting and pinpointed the optimal moment to do the breeding.
Thank you to Keri Gratto of Astraya Poodles for helping us pose the puppies in the photos. She was more than up to the challenge of taming a bunch of wiggly puppies.
